2000 was the release date for Blindside’s
“A Thought Crushed My Mind.” Now five years later, DRT
Entertainment picks up this band and re-issues their CD with some
extras. Though their sound is somewhat diverse from calm to wild,
I believe this was a more ballsy approach than their first CD. It
seemed more metallic. The digitally remastered disc really brings
out their sound. This re-issue includes two unreleased tracks and
two other songs that were previously available only on 7” vinyl.
Also, there is new artwork that was created by songster Christian
Lindskog. Lasse Marten, who also produced their debut, worked with
the band to reproduce this classic as well. Blindside took their hardcore/rock
oriented abrasion a step up from their previous release without losing
their sound. If you like music with nonconforming elements, “A
Thought Crushed My Mind” is worth checking it out!
