Influences including death, thrash, and black
metal coalesce on Blasphemous
Creation’s demo “Rest In Pieces.” It’s mostly
speed-driven or fast-paced. The band pulls their character from the likes
of Kreator, Sodom, Death, Destruction, Slayer, Deicide, Dissection, Dismember
and more. When listening to this combination of traits, black metal seem
to be their prime attribute at times. Or it could be a dirtied up version
of death metal. The guitar’s tone reminds me of Dissection and Dismember
a little. On a few tracks the guitars have a distant tone; muffled guitar
sound. A few exceptional riffs are mixed in, but the solos don’t really
work for me. Not enough definition and too riotous. The vocals seem to be
a black metal vox, but also could be interpreted as a higher pitched death
vocals. Blasphemous Creations is heavy and fast, but seem to be missing
some direction. Parts at times I can’t help but wonder if they play
they music just to play fast instead of working on what might work at that
point. Which makes this musically verging on becoming random and generic.
Being that this is a demo it should be surprising to find out that the band
is a little rough around the edges. Production is ok but nothing to write
home about. Six tunes under twenty minutes. It’s not to bad, but keep
working on it guys.
