Anaal Nathrakh - In The Constellation Of The Black Widow (Candlelight Records) - Back
"In The Constellation Of The Black Widow" is the latest edition of torturous metal by the Birmingham, England based Anaal Nathrakh. Extreme is an understatement with this band! Put your seatbelt on and prepare for blastoff. Once you hit play on this one you'll be on a ride of a lifetime. For many, this will be a frightening experience!

A lethal mix of black metal and grindcore burrows its way into your skull only to make every orifice on your body bleed. The variation includes a host of other dark elements that increase the force of this ride.

This recording sounds like someone was being tortured to produce what is on it. The vocal screams can best be explained as one lonely soul chained up and restrained while being burned, stabbed and violated while screaming the lyrics at the top of their lungs in unholy agony. Absolutely sick! Maybe their form of metal should be called torture metal or inquisition metal. A deep, cavernous, guttural vocal and an almost majestic, grimacing, singing vocal can be heard in variation with the aforementioned sickening gasps.

On "In The Constellation Of The Black Widow" Anaal Nathrakh is either blistering fast or has a buzzsaw heavy crunch. The drums and guitars combined are intense as any band, and with the previously mention sick vocals, makes this effort a true embrace of death. An occasional groove driven riff helps to grab the listener even more than what this relentless album already puts forth.

In addition, there is a guest appearance on the album. Zeitgeist Memento of Republika showcases his talent on "Oil Upon the Sores of Lepers".

If you like your metal, "the more extreme, the better," than you need to check out Anaal Nathrakh's "In The Constellation Of The Black Widow." Black and death metal fans needs to apply!
