After the first few track I knew what I was
in for on this very intense album by All Is Suffering. “The
Past: Vindictive Sadisms of Petty Bureaucrats” is over forty-three
minutes of death, hardcore and grind that tries to rearrange your
senses. All types of metal elements are on this disc. Fast, heavy,
brutal, etc., they are all on the CD. The best way to explain their
sound is a Brutal Truth type band with black metal blast beats and
some hardcore riffing. There isn’t much that is extraordinary,
even with their black metal and hardcore influences. It doesn’t
make them any better then other grindcore bands. Fourteen tracks of
sloppy aggressive, extreme riffs do get catchy every so often. Some
of their grinding riffs will give you neck spasms, but other parts
get to repetitive. Various parts of their songs seem pointless to
listen to. Overall it’s an ok effort, nothing to write home
about. If All Is Suffering takes more from their influences, which
include Napalm Death, Bolt Thrower and Suffocation, they might have
something going for themselves, otherwise I don’t see this band
